how to create an AI video that's guaranteed to go viral: step 1: open kling 3.0 and write a detailed prompt. "photorealistic woman in her 30s holding a skincare bottle in a bathroom with morning light, shot on iphone." spend $4.20 on the generation. watch it render a bald man in a field holding a watermelon. this is normal. step 2: regenerate with the exact same prompt. the AI director system will interpret it completely differently and produce a close-up of hands stirring soup. accept that the $8.40 you've now spent was a valuable learning experience. step 3: open seedance, veo, veed, runway, and wan2 simultaneously. run the same prompt in all five. one will produce something usable. the other four will produce content that looks like a fever dream co-directed by david lynch and a malfunctioning roomba. keep the usable one. step 4: add voiceover. the AI voice will sound perfect on the first word and then pronounce your product name like it's experiencing a minor stroke. re-record 14 times. settle for the version that gets closest. nobody will notice unless your product name has more than two syllables, which it absolutely does. step 5: add captions because 85% of viewers watch on mute. the auto-transcription will convert "dermatologist recommended" to "derma told just recommended" and "visible results" to "visible resorts." fix each one by hand. this will take longer than everything else combined. step 6: post it at the optimal time your analytics tool recommends. it will get at least 60 views. repost the exact same video 3 days later with a slightly different first frame. it will get 2.3 million views. learn absolutely nothing from this and repeat the entire process next week.

There's an untapped niche in AI videos for teaching Islamic ethics and jurisprudence, especially Islamic finance, halal investing, and Sharia-compliant business practices. I've not seen much exploration and innovation in breaking down Islamic rulings and principles with AI videos, procedural animations, and visual explainers. Most Islamic knowledge content online is still lecture-heavy, text-dense, or locked behind Arabic literacy. Happy to announce that I've received the 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞 on @runwayml's Big Ad Contest Award. I'm always keeping an eye on AI competitions and AI festivals, but this one was special for me because Runway was the first video AI tool that I've ever tried in my life. Since then they became giants in the AI space, supporting artists and integrating many models in their suite, also I would encourage everyone to follow @c_valenzuelab on Twitter for some deeper thoughts about the future of AI. The other reason is I've only realized the deadline was only days away, which forced me to ditch any complicated ideas and keep it very simple. And as it is with moving images: sometimes less is more. After seeing the top25 finalists I also had to realize that the bar has raised, last year you could post a 15 second demo and hundreds of comments would flood, but now - finally - we are back to the purpose of any media: to tell something words can't tell, tell a story, and have a message behind the cinema screen. I'll post the top 25 finalists in the comments so if you have time you can check out the artists and their work. Also planning to somehow help the local AI artists here in Vietnam, as soon as I have the plan for the best way to do so, will post about it later. Fresh off of speaking at the Runway AI Summit yesterday in New York. A few thoughts after many fruitful conversations. I don’t come directly from tech. My goal isn’t to be a “tech or AI bro.” I come from film sets, edit bays, and storytelling. I come from film and art school, drawing naked figures for 6 hours a day. After incredible conversations I’d figured I’d share the real state of the union regarding AI and the art and film industry. What’s clear to me is this: AI isn’t waiting to “arrive.” It’s waiting for storytellers and artists bold enough to define it. Both old and emerging. Right now, we’re still in the phase where people are reacting to the tools and to tech demos. Not understanding the complex workflows that are developing to tell stories in new interesting ways. But the real shift happens when creators start bending the tools to their voice. When we are seeing more people who have been crafting stories their whole life start to emerge. That’s when this becomes something bigger than just click-bait content. That’s when it becomes cinema. And I assure you, many of us are doing just that. We need more storytellers in this space. Because without them, it takes longer to move forward in a meaningful way. When people start seeing the real voices and the real stores, it’s all she wrote. Coming sooner than you think.

I thought making multiple versions of the same video meant reshooting everything. Then I tried Aleph 2.0 in @runwayml I took one clip and changed specific parts using simple text instructions: → changed the style → updated the look → created a new variation The wild part? It only changed what I asked for. The camera movement, composition, and everything else stayed intact. This feels less like video editing and more like editing a document: - Describe the change. - Preview it. - Apply it. AI doesn't edit your VSL. Let me be clear about that upfront. What AI does is eliminate the 6-8 hours your video editor spends hunting for stock footage and writing briefs for what they need. Here's how the production process actually works: Step 1: Your script is approved. You or the founder records A-roll — talking head on iPhone 14+ in a clean, well-lit room. Dark or simple backgrounds outperform busy ones for direct response. Use a teleprompter app. Record at 130-150 words per minute — slower than feels natural because the viewer is reading captions at the same time. Step 2: Feed the approved script into Claude with a B-roll extraction prompt. For every sentence or logical unit in the script, Claude outputs: scene type (problem visual, solution visual, proof visual, authority visual, lifestyle visual, product visual), a specific visual description in plain English, a generation prompt formatted for Midjourney or Runway, and whether the asset should be static or motion. Step 3: Output is a CSV — your production manifest. Script line, scene type, description, generation prompt, asset type. This goes directly to your video editor as their brief. Step 4: Generate all static assets in Midjourney. Generate all motion assets in Runway. Your editor now has every b-roll clip labeled, timestamped, and ready to drop in. Step 5: Your editor assembles the final cut — pacing, transitions, caption styling, color, the feel of the ad. This is the part you don't automate. The editor is what makes it feel like a real ad, not a slideshow. What this process eliminates: your editor spending hours searching stock footage sites, you going back and forth on "what kind of image should go here," and the miscommunication between creative direction and what actually gets produced. The AI generates assets. The human assembles them. That split is intentional. We've tested fully automated edits and they're not there yet. The editor's judgment on pacing and emotional timing is still the difference between a 2x and a 5x ROAS VSL.

There were a lot of takeaways from the Runway conference yesterday. But the one that has stayed with me most is the level of impact this company has had on people’s lives around the world. Having close to a thousand of your best users and customers together in the same physical space is something pretty surreal and unique in so many great ways. It makes the most abstract things feel very real. Whenever I could, I wandered around the main area and talked to people who had flown in from Spain, Sweden, Mexico, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, and so many other places just to be there for one day. People came up to tell me how using Gen-1 back then changed their lives. How Runway reshaped the way they work. How they found a new job. How it helped them reconnect with a dormant passion. Or simply how it made them happy. People whose lives were changed in ways both practical and deeply personal because something we built reached them at the right moment. The greatest fuel a team can have. It reminds you what all the work is for. It gives you energy to keep building, to keep pushing. To be reminded, in such a direct way, that the work matters. To be able to measure the number of lives you have changed for the better.

The idea that video models are too expensive to deploy does not make sense to me, and it usually comes from organizations that don’t understand the potential and surface area of the technology. If you believe, as I do, that video models are on the critical path to general intelligence, then it becomes a P0 problem to solve. It’s important to advance capabilities and efficiency at the same time. Improvements in efficiency help us deploy the models more widely and train them faster. People associate Runway with bringing new capabilities and control to video generation, but our work in making those models more efficient has been just as critical to getting them in front of tens of millions of users and 90% of the Fortune 100. We've invested in making video diffusion fast for a long time, bringing a distilled video model to market (Gen-3 Alpha Turbo) before anyone else. And we recently had to build an entirely new model serving stack from scratch to support real-time interactivity and instant generation as we start to deploy GWM-1 and our next world models. General, interactive world models will have a huge multiple of impact compared to traditional video models, and to get there you need a research organization that both understands how important those models are, and is insanely obsessive about getting the low-level details right. Some quick experiments on 'multi-reference stacking' using @runwayml new 'Multi-Shot' app. You've only currently got one image slot, but you can montage them in one image as an input. 😎👍 - Rather than using Photoshop (time consuming!) - you can use NanoBanana or Seedream to generate you the montage reference by using their multi-inputs (up to 14 !) and some instructions not to change the content with no overlaps. - I did this with NB in Workflows as its a bit more visual and easier to swap them in and out. - The the results are surprisingly good (these were with my Runway Big Ad Contest 'Nothing Burger' ad refs) - will need some more testing to see if i can improve this further. This is particularly useful if you want to give more context and emphasis to the elements of your sequence. Hope this is useful! 😄 🍔🥤 p.s. "Chronicles of Darius" I grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons and one of my favorites was the short-lived Dungeons & Dragons animated series. I always wanted to create something in that style, but never had the time or resources to do it. Last night, using Runway (with Kling 3.0 multi-shot and keyframes, and Nano Banana Pro), Midjourney, and Suno, I created this scene as a test for a fictional 80s fantasy series. Edited in DaVinci Resolve. I never thought this would be possible, yet here we are. There are still some rough edges, but this was just one evening. Runway's clean UI makes working on these projects a lot of fun.

Honestly, we’re just going to keep seeing more and more big filmmakers being open to AI in filmmaking and art and the Anti-AI crowd will have less and less arguments to make. The paradox is they’ll also get louder too. The problem for them is that they’ll increasingly sound whiny. Ron Howard on AI: “It’s very exciting in terms of its potential to more efficiently and more broadly help storytellers get their ideas out there,” Howard said of the hot-button tech. “There are so many facts yet to be sorted out,” he said, but added he thought the possibilities are very appealing and that others will agree. “We will want it.” Howard was speaking at the Runway AI Film Festival at Lincoln Center in New York Thursday, where he talked on stage with the video-generation company’s co-founder Cris Valenzuela. That conversation followed a similar AI-themed talk from earlier this spring between Valenzuela and Kathleen Kennedy, who was more circumspect. Perhaps most strikingly, Howard said that one of the most influential hand-crafted entertainers of the 20th century would also embrace AI if he was alive today. “Jim Henson just wanted to be busy making [things],” said Howard, who came to know the Muppets creator well from working on the 2024 documentary about him Idea Man. “That’s what these tools make so available and why they’re so exciting.” When asked about a backlash, Howard said, “You’re talking about change and people are worried about it. I’m worried about it, on a professional level. But again, our job is to experiment with it and learn from it and work with it,” adding, “It’s going to evolve. And audiences are going to tell us.”

Since Seedance 2.0 launched, the AI video scene has gone strangely quiet. Competing models have released almost nothing in months. No updates, no new versions, no visible progress from the rest of the field. It used to be different. Not long ago, Hailuo Minimax, Runway, Luma, and Veo rotated frequent improvements, keeping the space competitive with no single leader for long. Now, as Seedance prepares for version 2.5, its former rivals remain silent. There’s no sign they’re catching up or planning anything new. Development on those models seems to have simply stopped. Is development of the other video models still happening at all?

Every interface, feature, workflow, app, modality are getting copied into existing AI creative platforms faster than ever. ComfyUI was the leader in node-based workflows for a year or two before Weavy and Flora and others came onto the scene. 6-9months later, Krea, Runway, Freepik, etc. all have node-based workflows. In early 2026, we started to see rumblings of agentic models for creation. Luma Agents, OiiOii, CapCut/Dreamina, Flora, Runway, (we've also seen lot more in stealth) etc. have all launched agentic workflows (btw, this is distinct from multi-shot, which Sora2, Seedance, Kling, etc. are capable of) within the last 2 months. Layering chat on top of workflows to make AI creation feel more seamless is now getting commoditized fast. This is felt even more distinctly in the pure software space. It's so easy to take an interface and remix it, reverse engineer it, etc. I'm genuinely not sure what keeps users around, as a result: marketing and discounting tokens? That can't last forever. Users are notoriously disloyal post-ChatGPT. For AI creation workflows, this is profoundly exciting, because I don't think we've hit yet at the stickiest modality to harness the power of the foundation image and video models. But this also means the AI companies have to ship SUPER fast to keep their users' attention spans and address their creative needs.

been testing seedance 2.0 on higgsfield currently ranking above models from Google (Veo), OpenAI (Sora) and Runway on human eval benchmarks ~8.2/10 avg score, 90%+ usable outputs but honestly the bigger difference is iteration speed what used to take weeks + multiple revision cycles now takes minutes and another prompt this is getting very real
