How to add the Xholic MCP server to NanoClaw

Connect your X account to Xholic first (one click with X's official sign-in, during the free trial). Then:

  1. Step 1: Create an Xholic API key

In Xholic, open Settings → API / MCP / CLI → Create API key. Choose what it can do and which X accounts it can use, then copy the key (it starts with xhk_).

  2. Step 2: Add Xholic to a group

Run this with your group's id and your key. NanoClaw asks an admin to approve the change.

    Terminal
ncl groups config add-mcp-server --id <group-id> --name xholic --url https://api.xholic.ai/mcp --headers '{"Authorization":"Bearer xhk_..."}'
  3. Step 3: Restart and ask

Restart the group so it loads Xholic, then message it: "Use Xholic: what should I post today?"

    Terminal
    ncl groups restart

What can NanoClaw do with Xholic?

Xholic gives NanoClaw your X account, your audience and the actions to grow it. NanoClaw does the thinking; Xholic does the posting, scheduling and tracking.

What is NanoClaw?

NanoClaw is an open-source, self-hosted assistant built on the Claude Agent SDK. It runs agents in Docker containers on macOS, Linux or WSL2 and talks to you through WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack and similar apps. MCP servers are added per group with an API key header.

  • Self-hosted

Everything runs on your machine, in containers you control.

  • Claude Agent SDK

NanoClaw's agents are built on Anthropic's Claude Agent SDK.

  • Groups

Each group has its own agent and MCP servers, so Xholic only goes where you add it.

What can you ask NanoClaw to do in Xholic?

You decide what NanoClaw can do

  • Choose read, write and publish access when you approve NanoClaw. Untick publish and it asks you first.
  • In apps that can ask, every post and DM waits for your yes, showing exactly what goes out.
  • NanoClaw only sees the X accounts you tick.
  • Everything it does is logged on its connection, with undo where X allows.
  • Billing, X account connections and security settings stay inside the Xholic app.
  • Disconnect it in one click from Settings → API / MCP / CLI.

FAQs

NanoClaw and Xholic: questions

Setup, safety and pricing for using Xholic in NanoClaw.

Why does NanoClaw use an API key?

NanoClaw passes credentials through its gateway rather than a browser sign-in. Create the key in Xholic with only the permissions and X accounts that group needs; you can revoke it anytime.

Is NanoClaw the same as OpenClaw?

No. Both are open-source personal agents you run yourself. NanoClaw is a smaller assistant on the Claude Agent SDK that runs in containers; OpenClaw has its own runtime and signs in to Xholic with OAuth.

Is Xholic free to use with NanoClaw?

Xholic has a 7-day free trial with no card needed. After that, the MCP server, API and CLI are included in every plan, from $19 a month. NanoClaw does the writing on its own plan, so Xholic doesn't charge for its AI.

Does NanoClaw need my X password?

No. You connect your X account to Xholic once through X's official sign-in. NanoClaw then signs in to Xholic through your browser, so it never sees your X password or a key.

Can NanoClaw post to X without asking me?

Only if you allow it. When you approve NanoClaw you choose what it can do: read, write drafts and lists, and publish. Untick Publish and it asks you first with a one-click link. In apps that can show a confirmation, every post and DM waits for your yes and shows exactly what goes out. Authentication and permissions

Which X accounts can NanoClaw use?

Only the ones you tick when you approve it, with one of them as the default. You can change that or disconnect NanoClaw anytime in Xholic under Settings → API / MCP / CLI, and everything it does is logged there.

Use Xholic in every agent you use

One Xholic account works in all of them at once, with the same voice, memory and queue. People who use NanoClaw often also connect OpenClaw, Hermes Agent and Claude Code.
