Paperclip runs a team of agents like Claude Code and Hermes. Add Xholic to those agents and your team can own your X account: research, drafts, a queue and a weekly report.

  • Add Xholic to each agent runtime Paperclip uses

How to add the Xholic MCP server to Paperclip

Connect your X account to Xholic first (one click with X's official sign-in, during the free trial). Then:

  1. Step 1: Add Xholic to Claude Code

If your team uses Claude Code, run this as the same OS user Paperclip's heartbeat runs as.

    Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user xholic https://api.xholic.ai/mcp
  2. Step 2: Sign in once

Run claude, then /mcp, pick xholic and approve in your browser. For Hermes, add xholic under mcp_servers in ~/.hermes/config.yaml and run hermes chat once.

  3. Step 3: Give the team the job

Assign a task like "Own our X account: draft 5 posts a week from our changelog and report every Friday."

Paperclip · with Xholic

Own our X account: draft 5 posts a week from the changelog and report every Friday.

  • → get_writing_kit
  • → save_draft ×5
  • → whats_worked_for_me

This week's 5 drafts are saved in Xholic for review. Friday's report: the release thread did 3.1× your normal replies; more launch threads next week.

Server address: https://api.xholic.ai/mcp. Steps checked against Paperclip: add an MCP server to an agent on November 2, 2026.

What can Paperclip do with Xholic?

Xholic gives Paperclip your X account, your audience and the actions to grow it. Paperclip does the thinking; Xholic does the posting, scheduling and tracking.

What is Paperclip?

Paperclip is an open-source control plane that runs teams of AI agents, such as Claude Code and Hermes, on a schedule. It has no MCP client of its own: you add MCP servers to the agent runtimes it manages.

  • Agent teams

Paperclip assigns work to agents and keeps them running on heartbeats.

  • Bring your runtimes

It drives Claude Code, Hermes and others, so Xholic goes into those.

  • Open source

    Paperclip is MIT-licensed and self-hosted.

What can you ask Paperclip to do in Xholic?

You decide what Paperclip can do

  • Choose read, write and publish access when you approve Paperclip. Untick publish and it asks you first.
  • In apps that can ask, every post and DM waits for your yes, showing exactly what goes out.
  • Paperclip only sees the X accounts you tick.
  • Everything it does is logged on its connection, with undo where X allows.
  • Billing, X account connections and security settings stay inside the Xholic app.
  • Disconnect it in one click from Settings → API / MCP / CLI.

FAQs

Paperclip and Xholic: questions

Setup, safety and pricing for using Xholic in Paperclip.

Does Paperclip connect to Xholic directly?

No. Paperclip manages agent runtimes like Claude Code and Hermes; Xholic is added to those, and Paperclip's agents then use it.

Is Xholic free to use with Paperclip?

Xholic has a 7-day free trial with no card needed. After that, the MCP server, API and CLI are included in every plan, from $19 a month. Paperclip does the writing on its own plan, so Xholic doesn't charge for its AI.

Does Paperclip need my X password?

No. You connect your X account to Xholic once through X's official sign-in. Paperclip then signs in to Xholic through your browser, so it never sees your X password or a key.

Can Paperclip post to X without asking me?

Only if you allow it. When you approve Paperclip you choose what it can do: read, write drafts and lists, and publish. Untick Publish and it asks you first with a one-click link. In apps that can show a confirmation, every post and DM waits for your yes and shows exactly what goes out. Authentication and permissions

Which X accounts can Paperclip use?

Only the ones you tick when you approve it, with one of them as the default. You can change that or disconnect Paperclip anytime in Xholic under Settings → API / MCP / CLI, and everything it does is logged there.

Use Xholic in every agent you use

One Xholic account works in all of them at once, with the same voice, memory and queue. People who use Paperclip often also connect Claude Code, Hermes Agent and OpenClaw.
