How to add the Xholic MCP server to Cursor
Connect your X account to Xholic first (one click with X's official sign-in, during the free trial). Then:
Step 1: Add Xholic to mcp.json
Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project, or .cursor/mcp.json in one project.
~/.cursor/mcp.json { "mcpServers": { "xholic": { "url": "https://api.xholic.ai/mcp" } } }Step 2: Approve the sign-in
Reload Cursor. It opens Xholic in your browser: pick what Cursor may do and which X accounts it can use, then approve.
Step 3: Ask the agent
In the agent panel, ask: "Use Xholic: what should I post today?"
Cursor · with Xholic
Use Xholic: I just merged the onboarding redesign. Write a before/after post from this diff and queue it for tomorrow.
- → get_writing_kit
- → check_draft
- → schedule_post
Queued for tomorrow at 9:15: "We cut onboarding from 7 screens to 3. Here's what we removed and why: …" It's in your voice and passed the writing check.
Server address: https://api.xholic.ai/mcp. Steps checked against Cursor MCP docs on November 2, 2026.

What it can do
What can Cursor do with Xholic?
Xholic gives Cursor your X account, your audience and the actions to grow it. Cursor does the thinking; Xholic does the posting, scheduling and tracking.
Write in your voice
Cursor gets your voice, your best posts and what works in your niche, so drafts sound like you, not like AI.
Schedule the week
Queue posts and threads at your audience's best times, or publish now when you say so.
Reply where it counts
See new mentions and replies, who engages with you most and which conversations are worth joining.
Find leads on X
Read what your Signals agents found: people asking for what you sell, scored and ready for a reply.
Know what works
Pull your analytics, top posts and the formats that work for your account, judged against your own normal.
81 everyday tools
Load on connect, with every other Xholic action one search away. Notes and memory carry across chats.
About Cursor
What is Cursor?
Cursor is an AI code editor by Anysphere, built on VS Code. Its agent can read your codebase, run commands and use tools from MCP servers, including remote servers over HTTP with OAuth sign-in.
Agent in your editor
Cursor's agent works across your whole repo and can use MCP tools while it does.
Global or per project
~/.cursor/mcp.json applies everywhere; .cursor/mcp.json applies to one project.
OAuth
Cursor opens your browser to approve Xholic, so no key sits in the config file.
Cursor vs other AI editors
| Product | What it is | Where it runs | How Xholic connects |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cursor | AI code editor by Anysphere | Your computer | mcp.json with the server URL |

You decide what Cursor can do
- Choose read, write and publish access when you approve Cursor. Untick publish and it asks you first.
- In apps that can ask, every post and DM waits for your yes, showing exactly what goes out.
- Cursor only sees the X accounts you tick.
- Everything it does is logged on its connection, with undo where X allows.
- Billing, X account connections and security settings stay inside the Xholic app.
- Disconnect it in one click from Settings → API / MCP / CLI.
FAQs
Cursor and Xholic: questions
Setup, safety and pricing for using Xholic in Cursor.
Should I add Xholic globally or per project?
Globally, in ~/.cursor/mcp.json, unless a project needs different X accounts. Each connection can be limited to the accounts you tick when you approve it.
Cursor doesn't show the Xholic tools. What should I check?
Open Cursor's MCP settings and check that xholic is enabled and signed in. If it shows an error, reload Cursor and approve the sign-in again.
Is Xholic free to use with Cursor?
Xholic has a 7-day free trial with no card needed. After that, the MCP server, API and CLI are included in every plan, from $19 a month. Cursor does the writing on its own plan, so Xholic doesn't charge for its AI.
Does Cursor need my X password?
No. You connect your X account to Xholic once through X's official sign-in. Cursor then signs in to Xholic through your browser, so it never sees your X password or a key.
Can Cursor post to X without asking me?
Only if you allow it. When you approve Cursor you choose what it can do: read, write drafts and lists, and publish. Untick Publish and it asks you first with a one-click link. In apps that can show a confirmation, every post and DM waits for your yes and shows exactly what goes out. Authentication and permissions
Which X accounts can Cursor use?
Only the ones you tick when you approve it, with one of them as the default. You can change that or disconnect Cursor anytime in Xholic under Settings → API / MCP / CLI, and everything it does is logged there.
Works with your other AI too
Use Xholic in every agent you use
One Xholic account works in all of them at once, with the same voice, memory and queue. People who use Cursor often also connect Claude Code, VS Code and Windsurf.
