Worldwide trends
Updated refreshes every hour
X ranks the worldwide list by post volume, so it often fills with the countries posting most at that hour, Japan above all. For English-language trends, see the United States, United Kingdom or India.

Guide
How X trends work
X builds its trends from topics that are popular now and rising fast, not simply the topics with the most posts overall. That's why a story that has run for days can drop off while a smaller one jumps to the top for an hour.
There are two kinds of list. Your "For you" tab is personalized from your location, the accounts you follow and your interests, so no two people see quite the same thing. Location trends, like the ones on this page, are X's list for a place and are the same for everyone. That's why the United States, Japan and Brazil look so different: each list follows that country's language, news and live events.
What the numbers mean
- Post count is X's own label, such as "25.1K posts". X leaves it out for some trends, and it counts posts, not people.
- Since is the first time the trend showed up on the list in the last 24 hours, with the time from then to the latest refresh in brackets.
- New means the trend entered the list at the latest refresh.
- Peaked at is its best rank in the last 24 hours, when that beats where it sits now.
- Updated tells you when the list was last refreshed. Worldwide, US and India refresh every hour and the other countries every 3 hours, so this isn't a real-time feed.
How to use trends to grow on X
Trends reward speed and relevance. A reply that adds something to a big conversation early can reach people who have never seen your account; the same reply a day later mostly won't.
- Join only the trends you can add to. A useful take from your niche beats a generic post.
- Open the trend's search and reply to the posts people are already reading. Use Twitter advanced search to narrow a trend by language, date or engagement.
- Skip hashtag stuffing. Adding unrelated trending hashtags to a post reads as spam to people and to X, and X's rules treat it as platform manipulation.
- Check what worked with X profile analytics, then do more of it.
Our guide to finding and using Twitter trends goes deeper. Doing this every day takes time, though. Xholic finds the conversations in your niche worth joining and drafts replies and posts in your voice, so you can act while a topic is still rising.

FAQ
Twitter trends FAQ
What is trending on Twitter right now?
The list at the top of this page is X's worldwide trends list as of the time shown above it. For a single country, pick it from the list of countries to see X's trends for that location.
How does X decide what trends?
X's algorithm looks for topics that are popular now, rising quickly, rather than topics that have been popular for a long time. By default your own trends are also tailored to your location, the accounts you follow and your interests.
Why do trends here differ from the ones in my X app?
Your "For you" trends are personalized. This page shows X's location lists, which are the same for everyone. To match them in the app, open Explore settings, turn off "Show content in this location" and choose the same location.
What does the post count next to a trend mean?
It's X's own label for roughly how many posts mention the topic, such as "25.1K posts". X doesn't give a count for every trend, and it counts posts, not the people writing them.
How often is this page updated?
The worldwide, United States and India lists refresh every hour and the other countries every 3 hours. It isn't real-time: each list shows when it was last refreshed.
Is this Twitter trends tool free?
Yes. There's no login and you don't need an X account to view the lists. Selecting a trend opens its search on X, where you'll need to be signed in to read every post.
