How to add the Xholic MCP server to Claude Code

Connect your X account to Xholic first (one click with X's official sign-in, during the free trial). Then:

Step 1: Add Xholic
Run this once in your terminal. --scope user makes Xholic available in every project.

Step 2: Sign in
Start Claude Code, run /mcp and choose xholic. Your browser opens Xholic: pick what Claude Code may do and which X accounts it can use, then approve.

Choose read, write and publish access when you approve Claude Code. Untick publish and it asks you first.
In apps that can ask, every post and DM waits for your yes, showing exactly what goes out.
Claude Code only sees the X accounts you tick.
Everything it does is logged on its connection, with undo where X allows.
Billing, X account connections and security settings stay inside the Xholic app.

Setup, safety and pricing for using Xholic in Claude Code.

Do I need this if I already added Xholic on claude.ai?

Not if you sign in to Claude Code with your Claude account: your claude.ai connectors are available there. Claude Code signed in with an API key or a company login needs the one-line setup.

Can Claude Code post from CI without me?

Yes. Set an Xholic API key as XHOLIC_API_KEY in your CI secrets and run claude -p with the skill or the xholic CLI. The key's permissions decide whether it can publish.

Claude Code doesn't see the Xholic tools. What should I check?

Run claude mcp list to confirm xholic is there, then /mcp to see whether it needs sign-in. If you added it in one project, add it again with --scope user to make it available everywhere.

Is Xholic free to use with Claude Code?

Xholic has a 7-day free trial with no card needed. After that, the MCP server, API and CLI are included in every plan, from $19 a month. Claude Code does the writing on its own plan, so Xholic doesn't charge for its AI.

Does Claude Code need my X password?

No. You connect your X account to Xholic once through X's official sign-in. Claude Code then signs in to Xholic through your browser, so it never sees your X password or a key.

Can Claude Code post to X without asking me?

Only if you allow it. When you approve Claude Code you choose what it can do: read, write drafts and lists, and publish. Untick Publish and it asks you first with a one-click link. In apps that can show a confirmation, every post and DM waits for your yes and shows exactly what goes out. Authentication and permissions

Which X accounts can Claude Code use?

Only the ones you tick when you approve it, with one of them as the default. You can change that or disconnect Claude Code anytime in Xholic under Settings → API / MCP / CLI, and everything it does is logged there.
