How to add the Xholic MCP server to Goose
Connect your X account to Xholic first (one click with X's official sign-in, during the free trial). Then:
Step 1: Add a remote extension
Run goose configure, choose Add Extension → Remote Extension (Streamable HTTP), name it xholic and paste the address.
Terminal goose configureStep 2: Or edit config.yaml
The same thing in ~/.config/goose/config.yaml:
~/.config/goose/config.yaml extensions: xholic: name: Xholic type: streamable_http uri: https://api.xholic.ai/mcp enabled: true timeout: 300Step 3: Sign in and ask
Approve Xholic when your browser opens, then ask Goose: "Use Xholic: what should I post today?"
Goose · with Xholic
Use Xholic: plan my week on X from what worked last month.
- → whats_worked_for_me
- → best_posting_times
- → save_draft ×5
5 drafts are saved in Xholic, one per weekday at your best times, built on the formats that worked best for you. Review them and I'll schedule the keepers.
Server address: https://api.xholic.ai/mcp. Steps checked against Goose extensions docs on November 2, 2026.

You decide what Goose can do
- Choose read, write and publish access when you approve Goose. Untick publish and it asks you first.
- In apps that can ask, every post and DM waits for your yes, showing exactly what goes out.
- Goose only sees the X accounts you tick.
- Everything it does is logged on its connection, with undo where X allows.
- Billing, X account connections and security settings stay inside the Xholic app.
- Disconnect it in one click from Settings → API / MCP / CLI.
FAQs
Goose and Xholic: questions
Setup, safety and pricing for using Xholic in Goose.
Does it work in the Goose desktop app?
Yes. In the desktop app, open Extensions → Add custom extension and add Xholic as a remote extension with the same address.
Is Xholic free to use with Goose?
Xholic has a 7-day free trial with no card needed. After that, the MCP server, API and CLI are included in every plan, from $19 a month. Goose does the writing on its own plan, so Xholic doesn't charge for its AI.
Does Goose need my X password?
No. You connect your X account to Xholic once through X's official sign-in. Goose then signs in to Xholic through your browser, so it never sees your X password or a key.
Can Goose post to X without asking me?
Only if you allow it. When you approve Goose you choose what it can do: read, write drafts and lists, and publish. Untick Publish and it asks you first with a one-click link. In apps that can show a confirmation, every post and DM waits for your yes and shows exactly what goes out. Authentication and permissions
Which X accounts can Goose use?
Only the ones you tick when you approve it, with one of them as the default. You can change that or disconnect Goose anytime in Xholic under Settings → API / MCP / CLI, and everything it does is logged there.
Works with your other AI too
Use Xholic in every agent you use
One Xholic account works in all of them at once, with the same voice, memory and queue. People who use Goose often also connect Claude Code, Gemini CLI and Hermes Agent.
