Public GIF download
When someone posts a GIF on X, it's converted to a short looping MP4. There's no original .gif file to download, which is why right-click save doesn't work. This tool finds that MP4 in any public post, including GIFs inside a quoted post, and returns the highest-quality version.
The MP4 is smaller and sharper than a converted GIF, and it plays almost everywhere. If you need a true .gif file for an app that only accepts that format, convert the MP4 afterward with any video-to-GIF converter.
How it works
Paste the post, not the GIF.
Use Share and then Copy link on the post with the GIF.
x.com, twitter.com, mobile, fxtwitter, vxtwitter and t.co links all work.
Download the clip. Convert it to .gif only if your destination needs one.
What it supports
No guessing at why a GIF won't save.
Returns the highest-bitrate MP4 for each GIF.
GIFs in a quoted post are found alongside the main post's media.
Share links with tracking parameters and short t.co links work too.
Use cases
Short loops have a long life outside X.
Keep a reaction you posted yourself for reuse.
Drop a looping MP4 into slides, where it plays more smoothly than a GIF.
Save a product demo or UI animation for design research, with the source noted.
Responsible use
Many GIFs come from films, TV and other creators' work. Downloading one doesn't grant rights to reuse it commercially. Public posts only; protected and deleted posts can't be accessed. Xholic AI is not affiliated with X Corp.
