How to add the Xholic MCP server to ChatGPT

Connect your X account to Xholic first (one click with X's official sign-in, during the free trial). Then:

Step 1: Open Plugins
On chatgpt.com, click Plugins in the sidebar, then Add (top right) → Add custom MCP server.

Step 2: Enter the server
Enter Xholic as the name. Under Connection, keep Server URL and paste the address. Keep Authentication on OAuth.

Step 3: Create and approve
Tick "I understand and want to continue", click Create as a plugin and approve in Xholic.
Step 4: Use it in a chat
In a chat, click + (or type @) and pick Xholic, then ask away.

ChatGPT is OpenAI's AI assistant on the web, desktop and phone. It can use outside services through custom MCP servers added in Plugins. On Business, Enterprise and Edu plans, a workspace admin adds them for the team.

My ChatGPT plan doesn't show "Add custom MCP server". What now?

Use the ChatGPT desktop app instead: Settings → MCP servers → Add server, name it xholic, choose Streamable HTTP, paste the address, then click Restart and Authenticate. On Business, Enterprise and Edu, ask your workspace admin to add Xholic.

Does the desktop app setup work in Codex too?

Yes. The ChatGPT desktop app's MCP servers are shared with Codex on that computer, including the Codex CLI and IDE extension.

ChatGPT doesn't use Xholic. What should I check?

Pick Xholic with + or @ in the chat, or name it in your request. If ChatGPT says it isn't connected, open Plugins, find Xholic and sign in again.

Is Xholic free to use with ChatGPT?

Xholic has a 7-day free trial with no card needed. After that, the MCP server, API and CLI are included in every plan, from $19 a month. ChatGPT does the writing on its own plan, so Xholic doesn't charge for its AI.

Does ChatGPT need my X password?

No. You connect your X account to Xholic once through X's official sign-in. ChatGPT then signs in to Xholic through your browser, so it never sees your X password or a key.

Can ChatGPT post to X without asking me?

Only if you allow it. When you approve ChatGPT you choose what it can do: read, write drafts and lists, and publish. Untick Publish and it asks you first with a one-click link. Which X accounts can ChatGPT use?

Only the ones you tick when you approve it, with one of them as the default. You can change that or disconnect ChatGPT anytime in Xholic under Settings → API / MCP / CLI, and everything it does is logged there.
