Comparison

Xholic vs Buffer

Buffer is a general social media scheduler priced per channel, and X is one of about a dozen networks it publishes to. Xholic is built only for X: it drafts posts and replies in your voice, surfaces conversations worth joining and finds leads. If you mostly need to schedule across many networks, Buffer is a strong fit. If X is where you grow, the tools are very different.

Pricing and features checked on

Pick Xholic if X is your main channel and you want help writing, replying and finding people there. Pick Buffer if you schedule to many networks on a budget, want a free plan, or need approval workflows for a team.

Buffer pricing

Where they really differ

Price: per channel versus per plan

Buffer charges per channel. The free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each. Essentials is $6 a month per channel ($5 yearly) with unlimited scheduled posts and advanced analytics. Team is $12 a month per channel ($10 yearly) and adds unlimited team members, access levels and approvals. Paid plans have a 14-day trial.

Xholic charges per plan, not per account: $29 for Pro, $29 for Max and $149 for Ultra, with up to 10 X accounts on the top plan and a 3-day trial at $0 today. If you only need to schedule a few X posts, Buffer costs less. Xholic's price covers AI replies, Engage feeds, lead finding and analytics for other profiles, which Buffer doesn't offer for X.

Where Buffer is ahead: networks, free plan and approvals

Buffer publishes to about a dozen networks, including LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok. Xholic publishes to X only, so a brand that posts everywhere will still need a multi-network scheduler.

Buffer's Team plan gives unlimited team members, access levels and approval workflows. Xholic lets you share an account with one other Xholic user as an Editor or with Full access, but it has no seats or approval queue. Buffer also has a public API on every plan; Xholic's API is coming but not live yet.

Replies: the part of X growth a scheduler skips

On X, replying early to the right posts matters as much as posting. Buffer's own help pages say reply suggestions aren't supported for X, and it has no engagement feed.

Xholic's Engage feeds surface posts worth replying to from keywords, searches and lists, and its Chrome extension adds an AI wand to every reply box on x.com. You add a thought if you like, pick a tone, and the draft lands in X's editor for you to review and post. The extension's Mentions tab covers all your connected accounts.

Writing and scheduling for X

Buffer includes a general AI Assistant for drafting posts; it doesn't say it learns your voice. Threads of up to 25 posts can be built in the web app but not on mobile, and X polls aren't supported.

Xholic's Workers draft batches of posts in your voice, on demand or on a schedule, for you to review. The queue takes exact times or recurring slots, threads, images and video, the extension's composer adds polls, and on Max and Ultra you get automation rules (auto repost, auto plug, auto delete) and an Inspiration Library of more than 12 million posts.

Analytics: your accounts versus any profile

Buffer's analytics cover the accounts you connect, with 30 days of history on the free plan. That works well for reporting across networks.

Xholic's web app analyzes your own X account, with X history import and a daily streak heatmap. Its Chrome extension also shows followers, impressions, best posting times and estimated earnings for any profile you open on X, up to 40 other profiles a day, which helps when you're studying accounts in your niche.

The honest trade-offs

Where Buffer is the better choice

  • A free plan and low per-channel prices.
  • Publishes to about a dozen networks, not just X.
  • Team plan with approval workflows and access levels.

Where Xholic falls short

  • No free plan; the trial is 3 days.
  • Publishes to X only.
  • The public API and MCP server aren't available yet.
  • No team seats or approval queue; sharing is one owner and one teammate at a time.

Buffer's limits

  • No AI reply suggestions for X, no viral library and no engagement feed.
  • X polls aren't supported, and threads can't be built on mobile.
  • Analytics cover your connected accounts only.
